Re-evaluation of Ancient Artisans: Fingerprint Analysis on Heracleion Figurines Uncovers Contributions by Women and Children

Recent archaeological research has revealed that terracotta figurines from the ancient city of Thonis-Heracleion were crafted not only by men but also by women and children. The study, led by Leonie Hoff and published in the Oxford Journal of Archaeology, utilized fingerprint analysis to uncover a diverse range of artisans, challenging previous assumptions about labor divisions in ancient Egypt. This innovative approach highlights the collaborative and culturally integrated nature of the workshops in Heracleion, providing new insights into the social and economic dynamics of the time.

Tsitsipas Defends Controversial Social Media Post, Denies Sexist Intent

## Tsitsipas Defends Controversial Social Media Post, Denies Sexist Intent

**Wimbledon, London** - Stefanos Tsitsipas has addressed the backlash surrounding a video he shared on social media last month, which sparked accusations of sexism and misogyny. The video, which depicted women primarily as caregivers and men as providers, drew criticism from fans and the tennis community alike.

In an interview with SDNA, the Greek tennis star, who is set to play Taro Daniel in the first round of Wimbledon on Tuesday, defended his intentions, stating, "My intentions were completely different from what people saw... I didn't see it as sexist or misogynistic, as it was treated by many people."

Tsitsipas, who boasts almost two million Instagram followers, explained that his "romantic" personality drew him to the video's artistic elements. He has since deleted the post.

This is not the first time Tsitsipas has faced scrutiny for his views on gender roles. In December 2022, he tweeted about "modern feminism," sparking further controversy.

Reflecting on both incidents, the 25-year-old admitted, "I will say that I was wrong, I shouldn't have shared something like that because it was misunderstood by many."

This latest controversy comes on the heels of Tsitsipas' public reconciliation with fellow tennis star Paula Badosa, adding another layer of complexity to the situation.
