The final brush strokes have been painted on a new mural in the Sydney suburb of Marrickville as part of the celebration of 200 years of Greek Independence.
Painter and muralist, Fikos is the creator of the largest mural in the history of Greek and Byzantine art. Entitled ‘Earth&Sky’ the 46-metre high masterpiece covers the side of a seventeen-storey building taking the internationally acclaimed artist just thirteen days to paint.
For Greek Australian artist Felicia Aroney, her renowned artistic creations have always been an implicit expression of what lies within. Perhaps that explains why during this past year, a new, very emotive and sentimental body of abstract works was born, quite different to any of her previous collections.
