In 2023, EU residents made 1.14 billion tourism trips, a 6% increase from the previous year. While tourists from Luxembourg spent the most per night (€183), Greek residents ranked among the lowest, averaging just €48. Domestic travel remained popular, with 73% of trips staying within the traveller's own country. Overall, EU tourism spending reached €553 billion, up 16.5% compared to 2022.
