Giannis Antetokounmpo to Make History as First Black Flagbearer for Greece at Olympics

Greek basketball superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is set to make history at the Paris Olympics. Not only will he be competing for his adopted nation, but he will also be the first black athlete to carry the Greek flag during the opening ceremony on July 26th. This achievement is particularly significant given Antetokounmpo's remarkable journey. Born to Nigerian immigrants, he spent the first 18 years of his life effectively stateless, facing limitations due to a lack of official documentation. Despite these hardships, his talent and perseverance eventually led him to Greek citizenship and a stellar NBA career, culminating in an NBA championship with the Milwaukee Bucks.
