Melbourne’s Greek community mourns the loss of Vassilis “Bill” Batzogiannis, the beloved owner of International Cakes on Lonsdale Street, who passed away at 76. For over 50 years, his pastry shop was a cultural hub for Greek Australians, known for its traditional sweets and warm hospitality. The shop closed in 2024, and Batzogiannis’ funeral is set for July 14, 2025.
