PSARA Thwarts Drone Attack on Merchant Ship

The Greek frigate “PSARA” successfully defended a merchant vessel from a drone attack in the Gulf of Aden early Sunday morning, July 7, 2024. Military sources confirmed the frigate, operating as part of EUNAVFOR’s Operation IRINI, utilized both its anti-drone systems and onboard weaponry to neutralize the threat. Two of the four attacking UAVs were shot down, while the remaining two were driven off. The PSARA sustained no damage and continues its mission in the region.
