Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa assured the public Sunday that recent security disturbances along Syria’s coastal region are now “under control,” describing them as “anticipated challenges.” Speaking after dawn prayers at a mosque in Damascus’ Al Mezzeh district, Sharaa said, “The crisis has been resolved peacefully,” emphasizing the need for national unity and civil harmony. “We are fully capable of coexisting in this country to the greatest extent possible,” he added. The remarks follow coordinated attacks by Assad regime loyalists in Latakia and Tartus, prompting sweeping security operations.
