Another day of great results for Greece at the Paralympics! Panagiotis Triantafyllou won the silver medal in the Men’s Fencing B category while Dimitria Korokida won Greece’s 4th medal in Shot Put after finishing in 3rd place in the Women’s F53 category. Additionally, the Greek Boccia team defeated Singapore in the bronze medal match for another Olympic medal.

Panagiotis Triantafyllou secured a medal after a thrilling matchup in the semi-finals of the Men’s Fencing B Category, where he defeated Grzegorz Pluta (Poland) 15-14. In the final, he fell 15-7 to his Ukrainian counterpart Anton Datsko to claim the silver medal.

With a throw of 4.28 meters, Dimitra Korokida finished in 3rd place in the Women’s Shot Put F53 category. Her best throw of the year gave her the bronze medal in the competition. It is Greece’s 4th medal in the Shot Put event after Thanasis Konstantinidis won gold, Dimitris Senikidis won silver, and Dimitris Zisidis won bronze earlier in the week. The gold went to Fatema Nedham from Bahrain (4.76 meters) and the silver went to Deepa Malik from India (4.61 meters).

The Greek Boccia team that consists of Anna Ntenta, Nikolaos Pananos, and Grigoris Polychronidis, defeated Singapore 8-1 in the bronze medal match of the Boccia Mixed Pairs BC3 category. Greece dominated the first and fourth periods, winning yet another medal at the Paralympics, after their gold medal in London (consisted of Maria-Eleni Kordali instead of Anna Ntenta).

Greece now has 8 medals at the Paralympics including 2 golds, 2 silvers, and 4 bronze.
