Stalactites, Melbourne's longest running 24 hour Greek restaurant

Since opening up in 1978, Stalactites has been owned and operated by the Konstandakopoulos family and has become one of Melbourne's longest established and well known Greek restaurants.

Found on Lonsdale Street, a buzzing street of Melbourne City, the delicious restaurant accommodates to everyone's Greek tastebuds and is open 24/7, allowing those hungry in the early hours of the morning to indulge in some Hellenic cuisine.

Fancy some souvlaki for breakfast? Stalactites offer a have ‘Breakfast Souvlaki’ which includes grilled rashes of bacon and two fried eggs, wrapped in warm pita bread with the choice of sliced tomato or lettuce, feta or sliced cheese and sauce.

Other mouth watering dishes on the Stalactites menu for lunch and dinner include the ‘Mixed gyros’ which is marinated boneless lamb and chicken from the spit, served with Greek salad and chips, and the ‘Grilled herbed baby snapper’ which is a whole fish marinated in Greek herbs, grilled and served with Greek salad.

For those that are after a sweet treat, the dessert options are so tempting- including homemade galaktoboureko (creamy custard between crisp sheets of filo pastry and topped with syrup and cinnamon) and homemade creme caramel, which is perfection!

It's no wonder why the restaurant has won numerous awards and accolades over the last three decades, including the Australian Achiever Awards in 2008 for "Best Greek Restaurant", and Victorian finalist/runner up in 2012 for "Best Greek Restaurant" at the Restaurant and Catering awards, just to name a few of the many.

So if in Melbourne and craving some Greek food any time of the day, Stalactites is the place to go!
