Introducing Greek flavours to Vietnam

By 6 years ago

Right in the heart of Vietnam, you will find a family-run Greek Restaurant “Zeus Greek Souvlaki- Gyros” which is located in Ho Chi Minh City.

It’s positioned amongst eateries that serve translucent spring rolls and other traditional Vietnamese dishes such as Pho and Banh. However, Zeus Greek Souvlaki-Gyros stands out and has become a popular restaurant in this Asian city, as it serves Greek food to locals and tourists alike who are in search of Pastitso, Moussaka, Gemista and Greek sweets including Baklava, Melomakarona and Rizogalo.

Since owner and head chef Eftiochios Mountakis, along with his Vietnamese wife Sammy and their family, moved back to Vietnam from Athens in early 2013, their dream was to open Zeus and their goal since then has been to serve up authentic Greek flavours with no MSG or other chemicals.

The ingredients in their dishes are fresh, carefully picked, tested, and are free of preservatives and additives. Your taste buds will be dancing with excitement after tasting the
Chicken Kalamaki that includes lettuce, tomatoes, onion, fried potatoes with Tzatziki and wrapped in a grilled pita. Not to mention the Giouvetsi, which is Greek pasta served with beef, cooked in a tomato sauce and spiced with bay leaves, onion, garlic, and red wine.

“I went once for the pork kalamaki gyro, and it was beyond delicious. Maybe the best I have ever had anywhere! So, I went again and the next time we tried the Moussaka and Spanakopita (neither of which we had ever had before) and it was again unreal,” said satisfied customer Jason.

So when in Vietnam and craving some delicious Greek flavours, this is the place for you!
