Popular Greek Singers performing across Greece for Summer 2018

If you love Greek music and heading to Greece this summer, no holiday would be complete without catching one of your favourite performers!

Not only does the warm Greek weather put you in the mood to sing and dance, the live performances by the most popular Greek singers and artists will also do just that!

To start off with, here is my pick of the Top 3 concerts not to be missed, but rest assured there will be plenty of “Kefi” at every single performance listed below!

Elena Paparizou and Antonis Remos 

A show and tour not to be missed! Two of Greece's hottest singers touring together! Elena Paparizou, is one of the most loved Greek Swedish singers and songwriter who won Eurovision for Greece with her song ‘My Number One’. Antonis Remos, has emerged as one of the premier Greek pop stars of his generation with so many great songs that have become loved by Greeks worldwide. They will put on a wonderful and unique concert, a huge party full of old and new hits- so make sure you don’t miss out!

Konstantinos Argiros

Konstantinos’ musical talents were obvious at the young age of 5, when he began playing the piano. He has had so many hits from when he first started writing and singing songs, including ‘Defteri Fora’, ‘Pare Me Agkalia’, ‘Paidi Genneo’, ‘Osa Niotho’ and ‘Ta Kataferes’, to the massive summer 2017 anthem ‘Ximeromata’ and his current release which has become another favourite, ‘Psemata’. This great modern artist will surely put on a show to remember.

Anna Vissi

Free concert by Anna Vissi, need we say more! Vissi established herself in the recording industry by winning the Thessaloniki Song Festival in 1977 with the song "As Kanoume Apopse Mian Arhi" and released her debut album at the same name. Since then, she has become one of the most popular female artist and the fourth highest ranked singer in Greece according to Forbes. She will be performing at the closing of the Summer Nostos Festival.

Melisses

Melisses is a Greek pop-rock band that was formed in 2008. Some of their most loved popular songs include ‘Ena’, ‘To Kyma’, ‘Ola Moiazoun Kalokairi’ and ‘Eleges’. They will be touring Greece in summer, travelling and performing at different islands.

Miltos Paschalides

The famous Greek singer Miltiades Paschalides will perform his first summer concert in Athens with new material from his latest album, Τραγούδια Που Ζούνε Λαθραία (Songs that Barely Exist) along with songs from his other albums. He is regarded as one of the most important and beloved songwriters of his generation, so you know you cannot miss this experience to see him live!

Sting *English singer

Sting, Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, is an English musician, singer, songwriter and actor. He has included elements of rock, jazz, reggae, classical, new-age and world beat in his music. Some of his famous songs include ‘Shape of my heart’, ‘Englishman in New York’ and ‘Fragile’. Sting will perform two concerts as part the annual Athens and Epidaurus Festival.

Michalis Hatzigiannis 

Still singing and dancing to Michalis' hit song "To Kalokairi Mou" that was released in 2010? Michalis is a popular Greek Cypriot recording artist and from 2000 to 2009, he received over 30 certifications in Greece alone, making him one of the most successful artists of the decade. So you know this is a concert not to miss!

Kostas Martakis

Kostas Martakis is a Greek singer, model, television host and actor, who rose to fame after appearing on Alpha TV’s Greek talent show ‘Dream Show’in 2006. He has now become one of Greece’s most sought after young artist. “Fila me”, “Always and forever”, “Anatropi”, “Panta Mazi” and “Pote”, which are some of his songs, have all been hits in Greece.

Sakis Rouvas

Anastasios "Sakis" Rouvas, known mononymously as Sakis, is a Greek recording, film and television artist; model; actor; businessman and former pole vaulter. Some of his songs include "This is our night", "Shake it" and "Se Thelo". He sure knows how to put on a show full of energy that gets the crowd going wild!

When: 27 June at the Mad Video Music Awards 2018 held at Faliro Sports Pavilion Arena, Athens

  

Paola Foka

The Thessaloniki-born talent started singing at the age of 14 at the suggestion of a shopkeeper and with the approval of her parents. 5 years later, at the age of 19, she was singing in the nightclub ‘Mamounia' in Thessaloniki. Since then, she has gone on to release 6 albums till date, the last one titled ‘Krivo Aliteia' released in 2015.

The Music of Vassilis Tsitsanis

Vassilis Tsitsanis was a Greek songwriter and bouzouki player. He became one of the leading Greek composers of his time and is widely regarded as one of the founders of modern Rebetiko and Laiko music. Prominent singer George Dalaras will perform along with other big voices in Greek song including, Glykeria, Yiannis Kotsiras and Christos Nikolopoulos. Money raised from the concert will support vulnerable social groups in Greece

Nana Mouskouri

Nana Mouskouri has achieved world fame for her angelic vocals and is one of the bestselling artists of all time. This year, as part of the Athens and Epidaurus Festival the celebrated artist will perform some of her best-known songs including and not limited to; “Chartino to Fengaraki”, “White Rose of Athens,” and “Le temps des cerises.” Part of the proceeds will be donated to ELPIDA – Association of Friends of Children with Cancer.

The Scorpions *English band

The Scorpions are a German rock band whose musical style ranges from hard rock to heavy metal. Some of their most popular songs include, “Still Loving You”, “Holiday”, “Always Somewhere” and “Wind of Change” among others.Their concert, “Once in a Lifetime” will be opened by the Athens State Orchestra, adding a symphonic dimension to the band’s sound.

Alkistis Protopsalti and Stavros Harhakos

Alkistis Protopsalti has a triumphant career for the last 40 years with such a unique voice. She has worked with some of the greatest Greek and foreign composers and for one night, she will perform with a nine piece orchestra led by Greek composer and conductor Stavros Harhakos. It will be a perfect night concert exploring the music and culture of Greece with the legendary performer Alkistis Protopsalti.

Steven Wilson *English Singer
