US Ambassador to Greece hosts 4th of July celebrations in Athens

The US Ambassador to Greece, Geoffrey Pyatt, held annual 4th of July Celebrations in Athens, which was attended by Ministers, MP’s and other guests of honour.

Speaking to those present, Ambassador Pyatt assured guests that the US will help Greece by all means, as the country begins its recovery process, while making special reference to investment.

"Our founding fathers were inspired by Ancient Greek philosophy," the US Ambassador said. The event was attended by several cabinet members, including Panos Kammenos, Nikos Pappas, Lydia Koniordou, Elena Kountoura, Giannis Amanatidis, Dimitris Vitsas, Nikos Toskas, Panagiotis Kouroublis, Christos Spirtzis, Giorgos Vasiliadis, as well as Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana.

“We are celebrating how our founding fathers declared independence, taking the first step toward the creation of a nation defined not by language, geography, or religion - but by our democratic values,” he said, noting the influence of the values of Ancient Greece.
