Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas has donated 5000 euro and set up a Go Fund Me Page to help families in Greece who have been affected by the fires.
“I woke up this morning and found out what was happening in my country, in Attica, my hometown. Many people lost their lives, firefighters tried to stop it but with the winds it was impossible. Many families have been affected, it was a very rough day for the nation and the citizens of my country," said Tsitsipas.
"The fire has been declared the worst in Greece since the 2007 southern Peloponnese peninsula, which killed approximately 70 people and injured hundreds. Please help us raise money for the families that were affected and the hundreds that were injured. Your help is important," added Stefanos.
All funds raised by Tsitsipas will go towards families affected, "Please help with this, as I want to contribute to my country, my people, I’m asking you for help and compassion."
