Greek duo Wins Gold at World Rowing Under 23 Championships

Two Greek rowers took first place in the final of the men's double scull, at the World Championship, held in Poznan, Poland.

The gold medal of the World Rowing Championship U23, held in Poznan, Poland, was awarded to Christos Stergiakas and Ioannis Kalandaridis, who gave it their all in the finals.

The Greek duo finished at 6: 13.13, racing at a steady pace and leaving behind both the Netherlands (2nd in 6: 14.18) and Poland (3rd in 6: 14.53).

"The conditions were good today. We expected to gain a medal and are so happy, as we gave it our all to win the gold. We hope to have a similar follow-up at the European Glasgow," said Christos Stergiakas after the final.
