Government pays out 2 million euros to fire victims

Greece's Transport and Infrastructure Ministry announced on Wednesday that the government had paid 426 fire victims a promised one-off benefit totalling 1.957 million euros.
According to the Ministry, a one-off payment had also been paid to 27 businesses totalling 184,000 euros.
An additional 1,200 euros was also paid to fire victims to cover their telecommunication needs such as cover mobile and fixed-line phone bills, along with costs related to broadband internet services.
