Barcelona eyeing out Greece's 15-year-old Giannis Konstantelias

Despite being only 15 years old, Giannis Konstantelias’ talents are being recognised by European powerhouses such as Barcelona, who are interested in signing the exciting PAOK midfielder.

Born in Volos in 2003, Konstantelias currently stands at 165 cm and plays as a midfielder for PAOK’s under 17s side, despite being eligible to play for the under 15s team. He was signed by PAOK in 2013 and since then, has been a key member in PAOK’s academy.

The attacking midfielder has impressed scoring two goals along with seven assists from six games to start the season with PAOK U17s. His stunning form and ability to dominate in matches against older players has attracted the attention of European clubs.

According to numerous reports, European giants Barcelona are keen to sign Konstantelias in their youth academy. Barcelona conducted trials in which Konstantelias took part in and according to reports, the Greek impressed Barcelona scouts with his talent. The Spanish powerhouse is in talks with PAOK officials in order to acquire the youngster for their elite youth set-up in Spain. Although both parties are in negotiations and regular contact, an official deal has not yet been reached.

The interest for Konstantelias does not stop at Barcelona. The highly-rated teenage prospect is in high demand by a number of clubs in England. Reports suggest that one English club offered 1.2 million Euros for the 15-year-old, however, PAOK has a 1.5 million buyout clause in place, which certainly gives the Greek club the upper hand in the negotiation process.
