Government has enough votes to ratify Prespes Agreement says Syriza

According to Syriza Political Secretariat members, the government has the 151 votes necessary to ratify the Prespes Agreement and any other important issue in Parliament.

The secretariat held its first meeting of the new year at party headquarters in central Athens and it was chaired by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

Its members referred to the name issue agreement signed between Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) awaiting ratification in Skopje before coming to the Greek parliament, noting, "All political powers and deputies share the responsibility of voting for the historic Prespes Agreement, in order to resolve an issue that has plagued the country for decades."

The Secretariat reviewed the government's work and discussed current issues that also included the agreement with the Greek Orthodox Church, the increase of the minimum monthly wage, protecting a family's main home from foreclosure and rent subsidies.
