Greek Presidential Guards are in mourning as a young Evzones sadly lost his life whilst serving in the infantry unit last night, Thursday the 21st of February.
An announcement regarding the tragic incident was issued by the Greek Armed Forces, who said the Evzones died due to natural causes.
"The Army General Staff announces that a Soldier of the Presidential Guard, who was in his unit on the evening of February 21, 2019, felt sick and was immediately transferred to the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens (GSA) where he died. The exact causes of the incident are being investigated appropriately. The General Staff of the Army expresses their sincere condolences to his relatives."
