Greek Industrial production on the rise

According to figures published on Friday by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (HSA) industrial production in Greece rose 3.4% in January with manufacturing production edging up 0.2% in the first month of 2019.

HSA said the industrial production index rose 3.4 % in January compared with the same month last year, after an 1.2 % decline recorded in the 2018/2017 period and attributed the January figure to increases of: 0.2 % in manufacturing production (tobacco 66.2 %, printing 15.3 %, pharmaceuticals 32 %, machinery 41.2 %), 21.9 % in electricity production and 2.1 % in water production. The mining production index fell 32.1 % in the month.

The seasonally-adjusted industrial production index rose 1.5 % in January compared with December 2018.
