By 5 years ago

Greek authorities have seized dozens of passports, driving licenses and identification cards from various European Union countries that are suspected to have been stolen or forged, during a raid in the suburb of Ilioupoli in Athens.

The 'forged document lab' was allegedly run by a 50-year-old foreign national, who was arrested prior to the raid outside his home.

Police offices further seized computers, document and passport scanners, printers, data storage devices and over €10,000 in cash found at the premises.

According to sources, when the suspect was arrested by officers after a tip-off, he was found carrying a Greek passport and residence permit, Greek ID cards, Greek driving licenses and Albanian driving licenses that he intended to sell, as well as more than €4,000 in cash.
