Much-loved Greek actress Erika Broyer passes away aged 77

Much-loved Greek actress, singer and dancer Erika Broyer passed away on Sunday 5th of January 2020, at the age of 77, after a battle with cancer.

According to reports, the talented performer who left her mark in the Greek art scene was in an Athens hospital in the intensive care unit, as she struggled with her health.

Broyer was born in Athens in 1942 to Greek father, Telis Anthides, and an Austrian mother.

The actress became well-known for her performances in films including "Dis Diefthintis," "Rena is offside," and "The Parisian."

Erika and her sister Margarita became a popular singing and dancing duo in 1961, and a year later made their first appearance on the big screen in Alexio Sakellariou's film "When the Cat is Missing."

Broyer met famous Greek actor Kostas Voutsas while filming the movie "The 201 Canaries" and the couple married and later had a daughter Sandra. Although their marriage came to an end, they remained close friends and spent time together with their only child.
