John Hopkins University has built a real-time tracking map that tracks deaths, infections but also recovery numbers from the virus.

According to the tracking map, more than 4,700 infected people, predominantly from mainland China, have recovered from the virus after initially contracting it. This new data sheds some positive light on a situation that has been monopolised by fear and panic.

The coronavirus tracking map collects data from a several sources including the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China, and Dingxiangyuan, a social networking site for health care professionals that provides real-time information on cases.
