Hollywood action star Gerard Butler who portrayed King Leonidas in the blockbuster “300”, has arrived in Athens to take part in the lighting of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Flame and the festivities marking 2500 years since the Battle of Thermopylae.
The 50-year-old actor was joined by his girlfriend, Morgan Brown.
As the Olympic torch starts its global journey to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Butler will run holding the torch from the Byzantine town of Mystras to Sparta.
