300,000 Greeks living abroad expected to register to vote

By 3 years ago

Interior Minister Makis Voridis last week announced that an electronic platform will soon be launched for Greek citizens living abroad wanting to vote in the next election.

An estimated number of 300,000 individuals will meet the criteria to be able to vote abroad.

Speaking on Issue 104.6, the minister stressed that the infrastructure is being prepared "so that Greek expats can vote at their place of residence."

At the same time, Voridis clarified that they will be able to vote as long as they are already registered in the electoral lists and are citizens.

They will also be required to prove that they have lived in Greece for at least two years in  the last 35-year period.

The platform will be ready to operate within the next 15 days.
