Construction of PAOK's new Toumba stadium was approved

The "Special Urban Plan" for the construction of PAOK's new stadium in Toumba was approved during a Metropolitan Planning Council of the Ministry of Environment and Energy meeting.

The plan envisages the modernisation of PAOK's football facilities in the area of ​​Toumba in the Municipality of Thessaloniki.

Developments will be for a stadium adhering to the specifications and requirements of FIFA and UEFA.

At the same time, the development is also for the urban regeneration project in the wider area of ​​Toumba Stadium, as announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

As stated by Nikolaos Tagaras, Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, "the main goal of the Special Urban Plan is - together with the modernisation of field facilities - to renovate the wider area."

According to Tagaras, "both the new stadium of PAOK and the area around it, will be a supra-local reference point and tourist attraction, with greenery, leisure, culture, events, and restaurants, contributing substantially to improving the image of Thessaloniki."
