Stricter lockdown has also been imposed on the regional units of Achaia in northwestern Peloponnese and the island of Evia in Central Greece.
The decision was announced by Greek Civil Protection Deputy Minister Nikos Hardalias last week.

The minister did not specify the duration of the lockdown.
Other regions in Greece are also declared 'high-risk' including: the municipalities of Eordea, Thiva, Tanagra, Sparta, Pydna-Kolindros, Andravida-Kyllini, Tempi, and the islands of Kalymnos and Karpathos, Zakynthos, Rethymno (Crete), Aghios Nikolaos (Crete), Santorini and Mykonos.
Last week, the government imposes a two-week lockdown in Athens, to stem a spike in covid-19 infections.
