With a simple ceremony, and taking all measures against the spread of COVID-19, a theme park dedicated to the 1821 Revolution opened its gates in Sidirokastro, Serres.

The park extends to a green olive grove, next to the church of Agia Paraskevi, where with stands and three-dimensional representations, moments and protagonists of the National Uprising are projected.

"Our goal is to reflect on the importance and significance of the Greek Revolution and the people, who, imbued with the ideals of patriotism and self-denial, gave us the precious good of freedom," said Father Pavlos Papadopoulos, priest of Agia Paraskevi.

Father Papadopoulos, in collaboration with the Holy Diocese of Sidirokastro, was the brain behind this event.

As part of the events, a competition was held - a painting exhibition, with the theme of "1821," in which more than 150 students of the city's primary schools participated.

At the same time, a board game competition was held on the theme of the "Revolution of 1821", from the popular series by the Desylla Company SA, which also sponsored the event.
