In 2018, Theo Koutsomihalis' property in Bringelly was listed for sale for $12 million, now it's been valued at $1 because of rezoning around the new Western Sydney airport.
In October last year, the NSW government rezoned all land around the Aerotropolis which aims to become a thriving economic centre in Western Sydney.
Koutsomihali saw his 10 acre property transform from rural land to 100% environmental land (green space) under the new zoning.
"I've had my property officially valued and with nobody acquiring my land, it has been valued at $1 and unsaleable," Koutsomihalis told ABC.
"This loss of value is theft. I've lost all my equity in my home," he continued.
Koutsomihalis along with many other angry residents confronted NSW Opposition Leader Jodi McKay, Camden MP Tania Davies and Mulgoa MP Peter Sidgreaves at the Luddenham Showground on Tuesday. They demanded an Upper House Parliamentary inquiry into the Aerotropolis rezoning and planning.
Koutsomihalis and other landowners in Bringelly face uncertainty over what exactly they can do with their land now.
