After blessing the premises, His Eminence cut the inauguration ribbon with the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC and then addressed the members of the Castellorizian Association.

His Eminence praised the President of the Castellorizian Association, Mr George Pizanis and all the Board of Directors, for their hard work and for their sacrificial efforts to complete the Cultural Centre.

The new facilities, noted His Eminence, are well designed to preserve traditions, customs, and values, as well as the history of the homeland and the stories of first-generation immigrants in Australia.

“Looking to the future, the challenge remains - to ensure that the younger generations will keep alive in their consciousness their Greek heritage."

The Archbishop expressed his belief that the new Cultural Centre of the Castellorizian Association will achieve this noble goal.
