A new vaccination mega-center at the island of Rhodes is ready to begin its operation on Monday, said Deputy Minister for Civil Protection & Crisis Management Nikos Hardalias on Saturday.

Speaking on site, the minister noted that the new center features 24 vaccination lines and can perform thousands of vaccinations on a daily basis.

"We want to ensure that all the people on the island are safe to welcome travelers, and we want these travelers to be just as safe," Hardalias underlined.

The minister also thanked the Armed Forces for the administrative support they provide for the center.

Hardalias was accompanied by Health Secretary General Marios Themistocleous, several civil protection officials, South Aegean Governor Giorgos Chatzimarkou and Rhodes Mayor Antonis Kambourakis.
