The husband of 20-year-old homicide victim Caroline Crouch, a young woman of British descent and the mother of one, was on Friday charged with her murder "committed in a calm frame of mind" after appearing before a public prosecutor in Athens. Helicopter  pilot Babis Anagnostopoulos, 33, will also face a criminal charge of animal abuse after killing the family's dog and a lesser charge for giving false testimony to the police and casting suspicion on others for his actions.
The 33-year-old on Thursday confessed to killing his 20-year-old wife in their house in Glyka Nera after police confronted him with evidence from the dead woman's smartphone and his mobile device that contradicted his testimony regarding the alleged time of her death.
Babis had initially told police that his wife was murdered by a gun-wielding gang of thieves that had broken into the couple's home.
Greek authorities have already issued a warrant for his arrest as he is considered a flight risk due both to his profession and comfortable financial circumstances.

Greek City Times has been informed that an Australian resident allegedly owns the house that the murder took place in, which was rented by the couple.
