The Australian city of Brisbane has been awarded the privilege of hosting the 2032 Summer Olympics announced the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Tokyo tonight.

This is the third time an Australian city has hosted an Olympic Games after Melbourne in 1956 and, of course, Sydney in 2000.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk flew to Tokyo for the final pitch, which was delivered in front of the IOC earlier today.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison jumps to joy the moment his country is awarded the Games

Other cities who made a bid to host the 2032 Games included Hungary, China, India, Qatar, Indonesia, Spain and Germany".
