Solar storm to hit earth

A huge solar storm is due to hit Earth today and It’s set to possibly cause havoc for power grids and satellites across parts of the world. The estimated time of impact is between 6am and 6pm today.

US agency National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued a geomagnetic storm alert with a solar flare due to directly hit Earth today.

NOAA added that satellites may be impacted too and could exhibit "orientation irregularities" meaning ground control would have to redirect them, as well as anything in low-Earth orbit experiencing increased drag. The geomagnetic storm could reach category G2, which is moderately strong according to the agency.
