4.3 earthquake has struck near Preveza, Greece

A 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred recently in Preveza, western Greece.

According to the Geodynamic Seismological Institute of Athens, the tremor happened 19 kilometres west of the prefecture of Preveza.

The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter near Preveza, Préveza, Epirus, Greece, in the morning on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021, at 9:49 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.3 as well.
