A Chinese state-owned English-language TV news service has promoted a Turkish war monger and genocide denier just days before the Beijing Winter Olympics begin.
Doğu Perinçek, Vatan (Patriotic) Party Chairman and Member of Parliament of Turkey, "used a Turkish proverb to call for unity and support for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics," CGTN reported.
In the video, the Vatan Party leader gives other encouraging messages of unity over the Olympics and congratulates China.
It is recalled Perinçek said on Turkish television in August 2023 that “our issues in the eastern Mediterranean surely cannot be solved with international law.”
When asked by columnist Ahmet Hakan “how will they be solved?” Perinçek said "by force, with our army. Nobody can defend Turkey’s right with international law."
Hakan then asked Perinçek, who has the dishonourable title of being the first person in history to be prosecuted for denying the Armenian Genocide, “So, you’re saying that a war is needed?”
“I’m not saying that we must fight, but in the end it will be inevitable,” the ultra-nationalist political leader said.
"From now on it is a matter of arms. Our navy and our army.
"This problem cannot be solved with international law, meetings, conventions, etc, but it will be solved as we did in our war of liberation."
The Vatan Party is pro-Russia and pro-China because of its Eurasianist ideology. For this reason, it is also strongly anti-American and anti-NATO. The party also wants Turkey's withdrawal from NATO and Turkey's EU candidacy.
It also has strong party-to-party relations with other international communist parties, such as the Chinese Communist Party and the Workers' Party of Korea.
The party are staunch Kemalists, and for this reason deny the Greek, Armenian and Assyrian Genocides (1914-1923), in which up to three million Christians of Anatolia and Thrace were exterminated by Turkish forces.

China's propping up of a genocide denier comes as human rights groups believe China has detained more than one million Uyghurs against their will over the past few years in a large network of what Beijing calls "re-education camps".
Human rights groups also say that China has sentenced hundreds of thousands of Uyghurs to prison.
Evidence also suggests that Uyghurs are being used as forced labour and of women being forcibly sterilised.
Some former camp detainees have also alleged they were tortured and sexually abused.
The US is among several countries to have accused China of committing genocide in Xinjiang.
In addition, Amnesty and Human Rights Watch have published reports accusing China of crimes against humanity.
