EURO 2004 Soccer Hero George Karagounis coming to Australia

Euro 2004 Greek national team player George Karagounis is coming to Australia, according to an announcement by Football Brilliance Academy in Sydney.

"Football Brilliance Academy is thrilled to be hosting George Karagounis this October! The most capped player in the history of the Greece national team and midfielder of the UEFA Euro 2004 Greece winning squad.

"We will be partnering with the Heartbeat of Football Foundation to host a George Karagounis vs. Legends Charity Match. The Heartbeat of Football foundation is focused on promoting healthy hearts in sport and reducing the number of cardiac events in sporting grounds of Australia."

According to the hosts, proceeds from tickets will be donated to the Heartbeat of Football foundation.

Gates open at 2pm at Lambert Park, Leichhardt. Food and drinks available at the grounds.

The day will begin with an FBA coaching clinic run by our coaches and Karagounis.

Followed by a curtain raiser academy match and Karagounis vs Legends Match kick-off at 5pm.

At international level, Karagounis represented Greece between 1999 and 2014. He was a member of the UEFA Euro 2004-winning squad, and also represented Greece at UEFA Euro 2008, the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Euro 2012 and the 2014 World Cup. With 139 appearances, he is the most capped player in the history of the Greece national team.
