A man died, and another is missing as unprecedented bad weather conditions struck the region of Magnesia and the city of Volos on Tuesday.

The elderly man, a shepherd, died when a wall fell on him due to the pressure from the vast quantity of water in the broader region of Ano Volos while trying to reach an area where his sheep were.

Meanwhile, a search and rescue operation is underway in Aghia Ekaterini, Volos, to locate a man swept away by rising floodwaters. The man, aged 34, was trying to cross with his car stream in Aghia Paraskevi when he opened his door and was swept away by the waters.

The missing man's son, who was in the car, is safe and well.

At the same time, the region of Magnesia was faced with a heavy storm overnight, which lasted for over 10 hours, and the phenomena are expected to continue until Wednesday.

According to information, the power supply is periodically interrupted in Volos.
