The helicopter pilot that crashed in the sea at Achladi beach yesterday morning in Evia was found dead.

According to Proto Thema, Coast Guard men pulled him out of the sea on Friday morning. The man's body was found 52 metres deep in the water inside the helicopter's fuselage.

It is recalled that today, in addition to coastguard vessels and private vessels, a team from the Coastguard's Underwater Missions Unit also participated in the investigations.

What happened?

According to the Civil Aviation Service, the A-109 helicopter took off yesterday morning from the heliport of Afidna, while the pilot informed that it will land in Mantoudi, Evia. The helicopter landed at 09:00 in the morning and took off at 10:13 from Mantoudi and until it lost control.

Only the helicopter operator was listed on the flight plan, however reports indicate that searches are underway for a second person as well.
