WHAT’S ON AT LYCABETTUS THEATRE

The theater of Lycabettus started getting built in 1964 at the site of an old quarry. It was designed by the architect Takis Zenetos with the initiative of actress Anna Synodinou, in order to present performances of ancient drama. It has a capacity of 3,000 seats and during the summer, major cultural events are hosted, attracting thousands of music and theater enthusiasts.

The iconic Lycabettus Theatre re-opens in Athens this month after a 15-year closure.

Having hosted more than 1000 concerts during its 43 years in operation, the iconic amphitheatre boasts panoramic views over Athens, perched on a landing just below the summit of Lycabettus Hill. 

Audiences can expect an exceptional line-up of Greek and international talent throughout the venue’s inaugural month.
