Bargain-hunting Greek shoppers may soon have more options at the grocery store. The government is asking retailers to discount expired nonperishable products in response to rising food prices.
The 'household basket' measure is extended to 30 June 2024, according to a National Economy and Finance Ministry bill "that is currently put to public consultation."
The specific measure had earlier been extended to 31 December 2023 but its further extension for another six months was considered necessary.
