Greece and Rhodes topped UK travel searches in 2023

In the Google search engine, Greece was in the list of the most popular countries for holidays, followed in order by Spain, Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Cyprus, Thailand, Egypt, Malta, and Morocco.

According to aggregated data shared by Google, Greece was the country most searched for by Britons in 2023 as a travel destination.

In the corresponding category of islands, Rhodes emerged as the most popular in the internet giant's well-known search engine.

In the Google search engine, Greece was in the list of the most popular countries for holidays, followed in order by Spain, Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Cyprus, Thailand, Egypt, Malta, and Morocco.

Among the islands behind Rhodes was Sicily.

As for the most popular cities, the corresponding first place was occupied by Orlando in the USA, ahead of Tel Aviv, Seville, Marrakech, La Rochelle in France, Delhi, Cork in Ireland and Amsterdam.

According to Google, in 2023, Britons' travel searches were the highest since 2019, the last full year before the pandemic.

It was also the third year with an increase in searches compared to the previous year in the relevant categories of flights, hotels and train tickets.
