The 22-year-old has not hidden his love for Panathinaikos

George Karlaftis recently made history in Las Vegas, and on Wednesday, he was deified by Panathinaikos fans!

The 22-year-old celebrated for the second year at America's biggest sporting event after his team's 25-22 victory in a thrilling overtime final against the 49ers.

The great Greek champion has not hidden his love for Panathinaikos, and the team of his heart invited him to the Stoiximan Super League 1 match against Aris so they could honour and deify him!

With the green jersey and No. 56 that he wears in Kansas, he entered the stadium and even threw balls!

He was born in Athens and grew up as a multi-sport athlete playing football, track and field, basketball, and water polo, the latter of which he played with the Greek national team.

Karlaftis and his family moved to the United States when he was 13. He played college football at Purdue, where he won all-Big Ten honours before being selected by the Chiefs in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

In his debut season, Karlaftis was part of the Chiefs winning Super Bowl LVII roster and was a regular starter. In his second season, he was a pivotal contributor to Kansas City’s Super Bowl LVIII win.
