7.5 magnitude earthquake hits northeast Taiwan.

Tsunami warnings have been issued after a powerful earthquake hits northeast Taiwan, with shaking felt in Taipei. The preliminary magnitude is at 7.5, according to NHK and JMA.

PTWC now forecasting waves up to 3 meters above the tide level in parts of Taiwan and mainland China. Waves between .3 and 1 meter above the tide level are possible in Japan
