A Greek court has handed down a life sentence to a Bangladeshi migrant for the rape and murder of Anastasia Rubinska, a 27-year-old Polish hotel worker, on the island of Kos.
The case drew significant attention and outrage in both Poland and Greece when Rubinska went missing on June 12th of the previous year.
Her body was discovered six days later in a salt marsh near the perpetrator's home. According to the autopsy, she had been strangled after being taped and tortured. This tragic event has left a profound impact on communities in both countries.
