Skibbe’s call ups for Cyprus and Estonia

By 8 years ago

Michael Skibbe announced the 23-man roster for Greece’s upcoming World Qualifiers against Cyprus and Estonia. There was only one change from the previous call-ups with Panagiotis Tachtsidis replacing the injured Andreas Samaris.

Michael Skibbe is sticking to the “closed club” philosophy, making only one change to the roster that competed against Holland and Gibraltar in September. Panagiotis Tachtsidis replaced Andreas Samaris, who is ruled out due to an injury (with Benfica) that will keep him off the pitch for the next month. Additionally, Skibbe has decided to call-up Giannis Maniatis and Alexandros Tziolis despite both players currently being without a team (limited options in the midfield). Greece will play Cyprus at the Karaiskaki Stadium on Friday, October 7th and will travel to Estonia on Monday, October 10th for their 3rd qualifier. The National Team will meet on Monday for their first practice after the conclusion of this weekend’s domestic league matches.
