Dimitris Koufodinas, a convicted terrorist has been granted his third 48 hour furlough from Korydallos prison, authorities announced on Thursday.
Leave for Koufodinas, who has received 11 life sentences for his participation in terror group 17 November, was granted release on the condition that he presents himself once a day to a police station.
Koufodinas had started a hunger strike, which lasted for 2 weeks after his application for furlough had been rejected and will be released after his health recovers.
Earlier Thursday, anarchist group Rouvikonas raised a banner in front of the Parthenon on the Acropolis Hill in central Athens to express support for Koufodinas, raising a banner which read “Greek democracy assassinates hunger striker. Furlough to D. Koufodinas.”
