Alexandros was born in Calabria, Italy, and he was devoted to God from a small child.
In 314 he succeeded Mitrofanis in the Patriarchal throne of Constantinople, and in 325 he was one of the 318 Fathers of the Church who took part in the First Ecumenical Synod of Nicaea to condemn the Supreme Court.
