Greece’s Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras opens today the EU-Arab Summit in Athens Concert Hall.

The summit, which is in its third consecutive year includes the participation of EU, Arab and European Union leaders, ministers and top officials.

Alternate Foreign Minister Giorgos Katrougalos pointed out that "the presence of all these leaders shows the upgrading of our country's international position,” and expressed the hope that the summit would be particularly productive at political and economic level.

The summit will have a very broad geographical coverage, as representatives from more than 30 countries are expected to participate.

Dominating the summit will be issues facing Europe and the Arab world, as well as the deepening relations and economic ties in areas of common interest, particularly through the strengthening of political dialogue.
