Two British holidaymakers have been killed in a car crash on the popular Greek party resort of Malia in Crete, while the third passenger is fighting for her life.

Reports state that a male and a female died instantly, while another woman was seriously injured in the collision that occurred on Monday at about 6am.

A fourth person, an 18-year-old man was not seriously injured.

It is believed they were travelling in a rented Jeep when it collided with a stationary motorcycle.

The uninjured passenger is thought to have been wearing a seatbelt during the collision.

Malia is a popular destination for young holidaymakers due to its sprawling beach and nightlife.
