Greece’s Santorini is on the list of the “7 most beautiful islands on the planet” that was recently published by Condé Nast Traveller (CNT) Middle East, reported GTP Headlines.

The list features exotic islands from all over the world including Bali, Indonesia; Mahe, Seychelles; and Palawan, Phillipines.

“There’s something undeniably idyllic about escaping to an island. The slower pace of life, azure waters that lap palm tree fringed shores, endless hours of sun that make visitors forget all sense of time… the allure is endless,” travel journalist Alicia Buller writes.

“The spectacular island of Santorini scores top points for dramatic beauty. Bleached white villas adorn volcanic cliffs. Blue-domed churches rise against the sparkling sea, and bright sprays of bougainvillea add to its unique tapestry of colours.”

According to Buller, Oia is the island’s most picturesque destination and ranks among the most photographed locations in the world.

CNT Middle East – 7 of the most beautiful islands on the planet:

  • Bali, Indonesia
  • Santorini, Greece
  • The Cook Islands
  • Mahe, Seychelles
  • Palawan, Phillipines
  • Kauaʻi, Hawaii
